When the calendar turns to November, skiers begin to dream of falling snow, pristine tracks and smooth corduroy. Unfortunately for New Englanders, the wait can be a lot longer than just that Thanksgiving month.
Unless you’re at Craftsbury!
Each year, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center produces manmade snow (or, if they’re lucky, the receive it from the clouds) for skiers to train on. Athletes and team come from all over to get their first kilometers in. College racers, citizen warriors, and big junior clubs can all be seen skiing the snowmaking loop and watching “Mount Craftsbury” grow from the blowing snow guns.
Mansfield Nordic was one of the very first groups to take advantage of Craftsbury’s Thanksgiving Week training camp opportunity. For 5 days (Wed the 23rd through Sunday the 27th), we will be hosting our training camp featuring:
-Rooms in the Cedar Lodge
-Food in the amazing dining hall
-An amazing Thanksgiving feast in the Outdoor Center
-Skiing on real snow!
-Awesome nearby dryland training to supplement skiing
-Strength in the excellent gym
-Technique review, drills, and games
-The “Craftsbury Opener” race at the end of the week
New for 2016 registration for Thanksgiving Camp is open ONLY TO SKIERS HOLDING AN MNC MEMBERSHIP until August 15th. Payment options include $100 deposit (due Oct 15), $425 remainder (due Nov 15) or the full price of $525.
