The trails at the Range are closed, the fields are wet and the driving is not good either. We are cancelling for today and will hope to see everyone on Thursday.

BKL Practice- First Week! 11/26-12/02
Reminders:
For directions to the Range, click HERE
They are now checking ID at the Range entrance. Bring your Driver’s License.
Be sure to drive the posted speed limit in the Range (25mph). They check!
The skier’s parking lot is the large lot on the left, just as you crest the steep hill and before you get to the Groomer’s Garage. Use the tunnel to walk the trail to the Walker Building or just ski downhill on the left on the access trail. DO NOT PARK ALONG THE ROAD. Thanks.
The water at the Range is not potable. Bring filled waterbottles- kids get thirsty!
We start at 3:45. Try to get there beforehand if your kids need to change or put on their boots so they are ready to go at 3:45.
Tuesday, 11/27: Skate Technique (Penguins classic)
The weather looks like snow, rain & snow. Please check the website before you come today just in case they close the Range and we have to make a last minute change. I will post by 2 pm if we need to make a change.
We will start inside the Walker Building today. In addition to your ski equipment, please bring your running sneakers- if we loose too much snow, we will be on foot. Also bring a rain coat that you can ski and run in. Some dry clothes might be good too. After some introductions, we will be doing some name games, team building games and a little technique work on and off our skis!
Thursday, 11/29: Skate Technique
Check the website before you come today too. Meet the coaches on skis outside. Parents should meet Coach Rosemary inside the Walker Building at 5 PM for the Parent Meeting.
Saturday, 12/01: All Racers
10 AM- 11:30ish: Classic at Craftsbury Outdoor Center! Meet Coach Rosemary at 10 AM in the wax room with your skis. After we are waxed we’ll do a little technique followed by a long easy distance ski. If your child needs a ride, please e-mail me. We can arrange some carpools. sheacobb19@gmail.com

18-19 BKL Program Updates
18-19 BKL Programs
This season MNC is restructuring our BKL programs to better address the broad range of skiers and skier interests. Primary training days will be Tuesday and Thursday for all groups. Our youngest group, the Penguins meeting will meet only 1-Day of the week on Tuesdays and our more advanced Racing and Devo teams will add additional days on the weekend.
Our programs will primarily be differentiated by grade level, with our oldest skiers also being separated by racing interest. Key highlights of the program are below with more details available on our BKL Winter Page.
- Penguins (Pre-K to 1st) This program is now open to all skiers and not just siblings of older skiers as in past years.
- Jackrabbits (1st – 4th) Are younger newer skiers who have a focus on improving technique and fitness, while having fun and getting to know what ski racing is all about.
- Arctic Foxes (5th – 8th) is our newest program meant for older skiers who love having fun on snow but aren’t interested in racing at this time.
- Racing Team (5th – 8th) are older skiers who love to ski and want to learn how to go faster!
- Racing Team – Middle School Option (5th – 8th) is a reduced rate for those skiers who want to race with their Middle School teams and can’t participate in all the weekend training sessions we offer.
If you have questions about the programs or what is suitable for your child, please feel free to e-mail Head BKL Coach Rosemary: sheacobb19@gmail.com.
