BKL Programs, Training Week of 12/20

Photo’s from the past week..

BKL Practice & EC#1

Congrats to all the BKL skiers who raced on Sunday at Crafsbury: Niko, Julia, Virginia, Ester and Ava. MNC really cleaned up in the BKL race, so great going guys!

Practice this coming week!

Tuesday 12/20:  Skate.  MNC Collegiate Skier Guest Coaches will help coach!

BKL SKI CLOTHING SWAP:  Bring your kids’ outgrown ski clothes and see if anyone can use them. Set them up on a table in the Walker Building. If your clothing is not for free, please label it with your name and the cost so people know who to pay.

Thursday 12/22 Classic. No-wax skis if you have them, or we’ll probably do a klister binder with hardwax (probably TOKO yellow). Parent Wax Helpers- please try to get there as early as you can to help kids wax. It’s also Hot Chocolate & Cookie Day– bring cookies & snacks to share!

Friday Foxes: 12/23:  Friday Foxes are planned to be on at the Range at 3;45.  Watch for updates later this week or contact Eden (eden_shullenberg@hotmail.com) with questions.

3-Day Program:  Saturday  12/24 at Craftsbury, 9:30- 11:00.  Classic.

WEEK of DEC. 27- 31: No regular BKL practice.

Dec. 27-30th:  Mont Ste. Anne Camp! To sign up:  (add link)

Friday Foxes 12/16 – Canceled

We have checked the latest forecast for tomorrow. A predicted high of 9 degrees with a bit of a wind chill on top of that makes for a very uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation for the kids. In the interest of staving off frostbite, frozen lungs and freezing cold toes we have decided to cancel Friday Foxes tomorrow.

Sorry for any inconveniece or disappointment, but the snow at the range is fantastic and the groomed trails will be great for next time.

BKL 2-Day, 3-Day & DEVO Training, Week of 12/13

We adjusted pole straps, learned how to kick and glide wax and even got out for some games on skis on Tuesday and had a fun practice on just enough snow at Mill River Park on Thursday. The three day crew had a great time up at Craftsbury on Saturday, skiing on some awesome snow and practicing race tactics.

Training Week of 12/13

Tuesday & Thursday Skiers: SKATE technique at the Range!

Please LABEL all your child’s skis and poles with their name! Lots of kids have similar equipment and it’s easy to mistake someone else’s for yours if there is no name visible.

Friday Foxes: tbd still waiting on specifics from Coaches.

Sunday: 3-Day Skiers & Everyone who wants to race:  BKL Skate RACE at Craftsbury. Coach Rosemary will be there to help kids warm up and preview the course. Meet her on skis at 1:20 pm outside the Touring Center.    E-mail Rosemary if you are going!

For details: Eastern Cup BKL Race

*PLEASE Check back here (BKL Blog) on Tuesday morning to make sure we haven’t changed our venue at the last minute.
