MNC Generator Fund Raising

Thank You to everyone that has donated towards our new Honda Generator.  We are very close to covering the cost but still a little short.

The Honda generator is capable of running wax irons allowing us to help athletes with both glide and kick waxing at important events.  This can be used at BK, Jr and Masters events.  Don Harmeyer checked out the options and selected the Honda EU200i.  He also contacted a local business that matched the best price available (approx. $1000.00)  If you would like to donate please send a check to MNC C/O Rick Costanza 24 White Pine Rd, Fairfax, VT 05454.  Thanks!

Juniors: Training 12/31 – 1/6

This is a speed week with an opportunity to race on Saturday.

  • Tuesday = no organized training. Easy/fun skiing on your own or with your team!
  • Wednesday = 4:00 – 5:30pm at Sleepy Hollow. Classic ski with short intervals and speeds.
  • Thursday = 4:00 – 5:45pm at the Range. Skate ski with speeds and games.
  • Sunday = approx. 9:00 – 11:00am at Sleepy Hollow or Catamount. Low intensity ski with speeds and specific strength.

BKL and Masters canceled tonight

After speaking with the head groomer at the range we have decided to cancel practice tonight.  As of this morning the hill was completely ice covered and the snow they do have is bordered by a lot of mud so we would end up making quite a mess.  This is disappointing but Thursday should be  better and they plan on making more snow starting Friday.

Juniors: Training 12/17 – 12/23

First off, awesome job to everyone at the Eastern Cups. These are some of the most competitive races in the country – and surely have the most depth aside from National Championships. If you kicked butt — great; if you feel like you were too far down the results just keep it in perspective: former Olympians, NCAA Champions, Junior National Champs and more.

This is a recovery week! Note the shorter training sessions on Tuesday/Thursday. Sunday location is TBD.

  • Tuesday, 4:00 – 5:30pm at the Range. Easy skate ski and games (bring running attire).
  • Thursday, 4:00 – 5:45pm at the Range. Classic ski with fartlek intervals and specific strength (bring running attire).
  • Sunday, 9:00 – 11:00am at TBD. Skiing with long, moderate intensity.
