Tim Burke on the Podium at World Cup

US Biathlon is back on the podium with Tim Burke finishing in 3rd place yesterday in Slovenia. He also had a 4th and a 7th place earlier in the week and is ranked top 10 in the world. Masters 12/18 -12/20

We should have a small section of skiable trail this week. Please bring skate skis and running gear for a combined dryland/on snow workout.

If mother nature cooperates with some winter weather we would like to put together some MNC relay teams for the NWVE Opener relays on the 23rd in St. Albans. Details are below. Those interested please contact Rick so we can form some teams. This could be a lot of fun – combining skiing with a social outing.

Hard’Ack, St. Albans, VT

Freestyle relays for J1-Masters, J2, BKL distances. Low key fun 4 leg relays. 2.5Km loop. Race as an individual or on a team of up to 4 people. Individuals welcome to register and participate in day of race team lottery. Start Times: BKL 10am, Men/Women 11am. Prizes and raffle following the race.

Registration is open at Skireg: https://www.skireg.com/Net/3432. Registration closes Friday, December 21st at 5pm, $10.00/person. Full refunds to pre-registered athletes in the event of a cancellation. Day of race registration closes 30 minutes before each race $15.00/person. BKL Registration $5.00/person.

MNC fund raising effort to purchase generator

The club is seeking donations to help purchase a portable generator that can be used at the wax tent for BK, Junior and Masters events. The Honda generator is capable of running wax irons allowing us to help athletes with both glide and kick waxing at important events. Parent volunteer Don Harmeyer checked out the options and selected the Honda EU200i. Masters this week. Dryland training at the range (unless we get enough snow to ski). The snowmaking crew already has some piles of snow and will be continuing their efforts to get a trail open as soon as possible.

For the weekend there is a Masters division at the Eastern Cup on Sunday at Craftsbury. This will be a 15 km mass start skate race. You must register online. Info is posted at http://craftsbury.com/skiing/events.htm
