BK and Masters 2/2 – 2/8 2015

It was a busy weekend for skiers of all ages with the Mtn Top Paintball biathlon, The US National Masters Championships and Craftsbury Marathon http://www.craftsbury.com/general/about-the-center/news/detail/1422/.  We’ll post a link to results at Mtn Top as soon as it’s up.  This week we are back to our normal time and place at the range and just like last week it’d going to be quite cold.  More snow is on the way (some schools are already canceling for today).

Tuesday – BK and Masters will classic

Thursday – BK and Masters will skate

Saturday – There will be a BK race at Craftsbury – more info yo be posted later today.

The Ethan Allen Biathlon Club is also hosting a biathlon Nor Am Event on both Saturdaya and Sunday. They need volunteers so if you want to learn more about biathlon and help out contact John Madigan at eabiathlon@gmail.com.

Masters – Craftsbury Update

COLD!!!!!-

Dress warm warm.  Sam’s has been removed from the course to keep us out of the wind. We’ll take Bailey Hazen back to Ruthies instead.

Wax – use your coldest glide wax in the box.  Scrape and Brush well.  Binder – TOKO Green, SWIX VG35 or something similar.  Thin layer ironed in tonight.

Finding us in the AM: We are set up in the wax room under the lodge because we didn’t want Murray and Peter to get cold. Plan is to start testing with TOKO X-Cold kick wax and adjust from there.  Other options if you want to put something on tonight: Swix special green, Rode green.

2-4 inches of new snow so far here and the temps are dropping.  Groomers will hit the trails in the early AM and feel the tracks will set up nice and firm by race time.

GOOD LUCK!!

Masters – 1/29

Today is the first race of US National Masters Championships at Craftsbury. We will be testing kick wax on Friday and post our recommendatio on the blog  by 3 PM.  On Saturday Morning look for the MNC Tent.  If everything works out we will have it set up in the lower field near the Yurt and garage.  Keep on on the Craftsbury website too just in case the race is delayed due low temps.
