When not suffering “senioritis” or playing spring sports, we’ve been increasing our training and starting to take in all that summer has to offer. This Saturday this meant another crack at the Bolton Uphill Test for those not at a graduation…and what a test it was! Fresh off a killer track season, Baxter showed he’s still a skier at heart and loves the hills by setting a new course record of 14:09. Previously only a few athletes had broken into the 14s, and all of a sudden the 14-minute-barrier is a reality! Everyone running had something to be proud of:
-Charlie Maitland shattered his old PR by nearly a MINUTE, and broke into the 14 minute club with a 14:53
-PRs were also set by Conor and Greg, with Marika knocking an astounding 6+ minutes off her time from 2013…someone’s been training these past 3 years!
-Will was able to improve upon his time from earlier this spring, which was ALREADY a faster time than any point last season. A good start!
-Coach Adam showed remarkable consistency, with 4 of his 5 tests coming in between 14:58 and 15:11. Guess it just goes to show that when you don’t follow a real training plan you can’t expect things to change much!
